20th Anniversary TOUR OF EUROPE begins

Walter has been rehearsing with the band relentlessly lately and they have a beautiful set planned of old and new songs. Utilizing the 4 part harmony that having Sammy, Michael, Andrew, and Walter all sing adds a whole new element to the live show. Acoustic guitars are being used as well! This tour will be a chance to hear old favorites played - many of them for the first time live.

Walter Trout Performs "Reason I'm Gone" From the DVD Relentless (the concert)

Jun 21, 2009

Total Music Magazine Online

Jun 09, 2009

Born in New Jersey Walter Trout, as any blues fan worth his weight in dimples will know, is a guitarist, singer and songwriter who's career began on the Jersey coast scene of the late 60's and early 70's before going on to become a sideman for artists such as Finis Tasby, Pee Wee Crayton, Lowell Fulsom, and Percy Mayfield, the guitarist for Canned Heat and then the mother of all blues bands John Mayall's Bluesbreakers where he made a name for himself sparring with second guitarist Coco Montoya. He went on to form the Walter Trout Band - although the band has also traded under Walter Trout and the Free Radicals, and Walter Trout and the Radicals - finding a ready-made audience in much of Europe and our man David Blue collared him on his way to dinner after a recent show in the UK...

Pete Feenstra's Top Ten for Net Rhythms

Dec 11, 2008

Pete Feenstra's Top Ten for Net Rhythms

Walter Trout - The Outsider (Provogue)
'The Outsider' might loosely be interpreted as a concept album full of characters who as Walter himself sings on the title track are 'standin' on the outside lookin' in'. The album's sequencing is excellent and the production is everything that you imagine Walter wanted. And in the company of new set of musicians and an intuitive producer in the shape of John Porter, he plays to his optimum. Walter may see himself as an 'outsider' but this album offers further evidence that he is very much at the centre of everything that's good about contemporary blues rock.

Walter himself who provides the first person narrative on the barnstorming opening track 'Welcome to the Human Race' and extends the list of outsiders on one of the album's best tracks the riff driven 'Child of Another Day'
At times the lyrics may seem a little bleak but they are delivered with such passion and intense musicality by Trout that it all fits perfectly. Put simply 'The Outsider' does the trick because it is full of heartfelt emotion and scintillating playing by a guitarist at the height of his game.

With an album crammed full of emotional honesty and brilliant playing, all neatly wrapped up by Trout's new producer John Porter, this is easily his most accomplished work. There's characteristic power shuffles, mellifluous grooves, big tones solos and great songs. 57 years old and rocking Walter is still the man!

LIVE PODCAST - CLICK HERE

Written by Administrator

Friday, 24 October 2008 21:56

The Varmints are delighted to announce that Tonight's show (October 31st) will feature an extended interview with Walter Trout, all round top bloke and, without doubt, one of the world's finest guitarists. Don't just take our word for it - a late 90's Poll for the legendary "Whispering" Bob Harris at the BBC put him at No: 6, tied with Brian May (!!) and just behind Clapton/ Hendrix/ Moore/ Page & Knopfler (not that it's a competition ..., but to see some of the staggering talent he beat, see the full Poll HERE

Rob and Matt caught up with Walter a couple of weeks ago at the fantastic Cheese & Grain (across the Somerset Levels in Frome - as in "I believe I'll dust my Frome") and, even though his voice was obviously suffering, his manager was understandably keen that we didn't keep him too long because he'd just done a blistering two hour set, it was well after midnight and he had to get to Milton Keynes for the next gig - he was still willing to give us half an hour of his time... we're definitely not worthy (you can do the actions yourself).

Featuring tracks from his superb latest album, "TheOutsider", the interview has Walter waxing lyrical, discussing his work with John Lee Hooker, John Mayall and Canned Heat, as well as his relationship with Carlos Santana, his views on one music critic's opinions and, perhaps unexpectedly, the role of T.S.Eliot in the new album.

He took a 14 year old to see the show who's jaw dropped after hearing Walter play. Alex Lester also said He doesn't so much as play the guitar he must attacks it and trys to kill it stone dead."

While WTR were playing in Frome-UK, October 2006, Walter did an interview and guitar tuition workshop. Lesson #1 is now published in TOTAL GUITAR, Europe's best selling guitar magazine. There is a short video, pictures and a small write up with some examples of what Walter is playing to go along with video. This will run over three or four issues on the cover mounted CD ROM. The only problem recording this in the tiny changing room was getting Walter's Mesa Boogie quiet enough. It was set to ZERO rather than the normal TEN!

Self- released CD available to "Hardcore Fans"

Jul 01, 2007

New surprise self- released CD available to our "Hardcore Fans" on CDBaby for purchase as well as download.

"Hardcore" features 9 live tracks recorded during the Power Trio tour when Walter, Joey, and Rick did a "one time only" experiment through selected cities of the UK and Europe in the early spring of 2007. (See below to read how the idea for the Power Trio tour was born). CDBaby will have these for sale shortly (we have submitted them, now we are just waiting for them to get this up on the site 5-10 days). Hardcore will also be available for download through iTunes . We will update you with more information as it becomes available."

See discography for track listing

"Hard Core Blues Rock" tour in March 2007

"One evening in London on the recent European tour Walter and the band had to do the entire show without Sammy Avila on keys. Sammy's B3 had broken down and did not want to cooperate in time for the show to begin. It was an evening of tension for Walter at first: How was he going to get through an evening without his trusted sidekick? Well, it turned out that the mix of an enthusiastic London audience, and more ROOM FOR WALTER'S GUITAR was a powerful propellant, and Walter and his one-night-only power trio blew through a very inspired evening with more room for bass/guitar interplay and spontaneous errands into the land of "Hard Core Blues Rock".

So Walter decided to give this form of the band a small tour in the spring.

It was a liberating but also limiting experience to play as just three spontaneous blues rockers, but have no fear, there are no - repeat absolutely NO PLANS - to make this a permanent version of the Radicals. It is a chance to do a spontaneous hard core guitar driven evening of head banging balls out blues, not a permanent solution for the kind of music that Walter wants to play.

So anybody with the desire to experience the "hard core" trio will have a maybe once in a lifetime opportunity in the March into early April tour. We will have only 12 shows in the UK, a few in Holland and a handful in Germany.

"Life in the Jungle"

Mar 26, 2007

Killer has confessed murder after 20 years in the case that inspired Walter to write the song, "Life in the Jungle"

Walter played with his band "the Walter Trout Band" at Perq's the night Jamie was killed. He walked through the streets the next night and found himself standing in front of her apartment and saw the blood and Police tape of "crime scene investigation" in front of his Jamie's door.

He knew Jamie as a fan, and a very artistic and sweet friend. It shook him so much that he went home and wrote the first song, since he got writer's block 15 years earlier. The song was then recorded with the band he was touring with: John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers.

When Walter went solo a few years later, it became the title of his first solo Album: "Life in the Jungle." Now it is of course also the name of the official Walter Trout Fan Club Magazine.

Walter Trout's Full Circle voted
BluesWax Album of the Year 2006

Blueswax writes.....

"Yes, the readers of BluesWax, the largest subscribed Blues publication in the world, have selected their BluesWax Artist of the Year 2006 and BluesWax Album of the Year 2006. During November and December we took your nominations and created a final ballot of six artists and six albums and then for the past few weeks you voted. As the largest subscribed Blues publication in the world, these awards are open to more fans than any other awards in the Blues. The final ballot for BluesWax BluesWax Album of the Year 2006 was

Walter Trout's Full Circle

As with the Artist of the Year Award, the nominating process for BluesWax Album of the Year 2006 began back in November when our readers and contributors began making nominations. The nominating process created the final ballot of:

Ain't Easy No More-Mark Hummel
Do I Move You-Janiva Magness
Full Circle-Walter Trout
Last Call-Lynwood Slim
The Torch-Ronnie Baker Brooks
Watermelon Slim and the Workers-Watermelon Slim and the Workers

These were all great nominations and we loved every one of them! In the final voting, again with record returns, you selected Walter Trout's Full Circle as BluesWax Album of the Year 2006.

BluesWax caught up with Walter Trout at home after a recent tour of Asia. Winning the Album of the Year award for Full Circle elicited this response from Trout, "To all the fans who voted for me: I am very moved by this honor you have given to my album Full Circle. This project was a labor of love for me and having you choose it as Album of the Year makes it a very special milestone in my long career. Thanks again and I'll see you on the road!"

The staff of BluesWax congratulates Walter Trout for winning the BluesWax Album of the Year Awards! And we thank the thousands of you who participated in this year's nominating and voting process. You have spoken! "

Walter and the Radicals Return to Mumbai

Feb 03, 2007

"Walter and the Radicals returned to Mumbai, India Feb. 3rd and 4th for a great concert. The band has developed a love affair with the Indian people who have embraced Walter and the band's music. Walter jammed on stage with Buddy Guy on February 4th, and hung out with his actor friend, Sanjay Dutt. Here is a link to the CNN/IBN video clip about Walter and his visit to India".

Mumbai: Famous blues guitarist Walter Trout stole hearts when he performed at a rock concert in Mumbai. People danced to his numbers but little did they know that Trout is in India because of ‘Munnabhai' Sanjay Dutt.

While the guitarist said that Sanjay is like his brother, the actor proclaimed, "no one plays guitar better than Walter".

The blues guitarist has come back to India for the second time, because Dutt hoped for it. Dutt said his love affair with Walter Trout's music goes a long way back. "I listened to Walter in New York in my hotel room, many years ago," said Dutt.

"I became his biggest fan. And I must say I have never heard anybody play guitar like this," he added.

And for the man who was voted the 6th best all time greatest guitarist in a BBC radio poll, there is now more reason to keep coming back.

"We are a family. I feel like Sanjay is my brother and I know, had he not heard me in New York, I would have never been in India," said Walter Trout.

The evening also saw guest artists like Guitar Shorty and Bernard Allison who strummed up some good old Blues music with Walter Trout.

"Hard Core Blues Rock" Tour in March 2007

Nov 29, 2006

UNIQUE ONE TIME ONLY band line-up

Mesa Boogie Factory

Sep 08, 2006

During a break in the touring on the August USA tour, the band (and a couple of Walter's kids) stopped at the Mesa Boogie factory in Petaluma, CA and received a tour of the factory. Everybody had a great time discovering the inner workings, and the careful production of each individual amp. The visit gave us great insights into why Mesa Boogie amps are just as much a piece of art, as they are great sounding music machines! Thanks Mesa Boogie!

What's In a Band Name?

Aug 30, 2006

Press Release 16
What's in a Band Name?

The Feds May Want to Know!

Blues veteran Walter Trout has been touring and recording with his band "The Radicals" since 2000. Nobody thought much about the name in 2000. It was just a clever band name. In fact, in 1999 they called themselves "The Free Radicals" before shortening it a year later to just "The Radicals".

But now, calling themselves "The Radicals" may be generating unwarranted attention from The Feds who have recently visited the website of Walter Trout and The Radicals some 81 times. www.waltertrout.com

Or maybe The Feds are visiting because... [click to continue]

Walter Trout - CD - Full Circle

With "Full Circle" Walter Trout has realized a long held dream: To invite some of the musicians he admires and respects in the studio to compose and play together. "Full Circle" is a journey within the range of styles that is the blues genre. "Full Circle" is about sharing that format honestly and with integrity.

"Full Circle" is not just another Walter Trout CD! It is a celebration of where the blues world is, where it has been and where it is going. Walter's focus with "Full Circle" was to break down artificial barriers between the music of "blues purists" and "blues rockers".

"Full circle" is about Walter's desire to explore the many aspects of the Blues and show that there are no boundaries between musicians that respect each other.

His goal: To celebrate that the Blues is alive as a diverse art form; to show that the Blues is vibrant, and is not held hostage by the critics who want to brand, label and limit its expression.

With "Full Circle," Walter and his friends are paying homage to the blues as a living testimony to the people and the places that create this honest form of music.

Featuring...

John Mayall
Jeff Healey
Joe Bonamassa
Coco Montoya
Bernard Allison
Eric Sardinas
Richie Hayward
Junior Watson
Guitar Shorty

CD/DVD Review in Blues Matters Magazine Issue #29

Jan 03, 2006

CD/DVD Review in Blues Matters magazine issue 29

Walter Trout and the Radicals - Relentless

Ruf Records. 10 tracks. 73.01 mins.

This album was recorded live over a two-day period at The Paradiso in Amsterdam on May 13th and 14th 2003. An album of all new songs never recorded before and never in front of a live audience. It was recorded over the two days for the CD as well as a new DVD in 5:1 surround sound plus all the added extras of interviews, extra tracks and behind the scenes etc. As far as I know this has never been attempted before.
The album itself is absolutely brilliant, and so refreshing to buy and hear an album of one of your favourite artists where, you have not heard any of the tracks recorded before (not even one cover). Walter wrote 12 out of the 14 tracks, the other two were written by Walter and his wife Marie, and the other by the band (Walter, Jimmy, Sammy and Joey). Personally I think this is his best album he has ever done. Walter has been one of my favourites for a long time, so I may be a little bias when I say that this is the best album around at the moment. It's not JUST the quality of the musicians, it's not JUST the quality of the songs, and it's not JUST the quality of the recording, mixing, and production...IT'S JUST QUALITY... Like the album title suggests, Walter, his guitar and the band are "relentless".

Guest Appearance on "Days Like This"

Dec 04, 2005

As you know Walter Trout is Danny Bryant's mentor and often asks Danny up to jam whenever they are on the same bill. Danny asked Walter if he would make a guest appearance on Danny's new CD.

Danny Bryant's RedEyeBand CD Days Like This is due to be released in December with the title track, Days Like This having a guest appearance by Walter Trout. It was recorded in Purple Studios, Norwich, UK on 24th October straight after Walter finished his concert at The Waterfront, Norwich.
Danny said the band gathered around in a circle and played the song through. Walter said "that's a take" so what you hear is it. No overdubs, re-recording or anything. They then recorded the vocals and again it was one take.

European Tour Completed

Nov 12, 2005

The band completed another successful European tour. Walter's voice was better than ever after his vocal chord operation. New bass player Rick Knapp proved he was a great choice to enhance band. Andrew Elt, the tour manager sang backing and lead vocals on several songs during each show bringing a near "Robert Plant" performance to "Mercy".

Walter's Surgery

Oct 01, 2005

Walter had over some time developed a growth on his vocal chords. He had surgery on the 23rd of September.

The surgery went well and after more than a week of silence, Walter just got the ok to speak again yesterday, and his voice although still weak, is gaining momentum every hour that passes. He even has an increased vocal range and can hit notes, he has not been able to hit in years.

With a little TLC in the next week or so, his voice should be in fine form for the kick off of the UK/European tour beginning Oct. 8th!

I am also happy to report that the biopsy results came back, and told us that there was no cancer in the growth that had been removed from Walter's vocal chords.

Thanks for the messages of support!

Thank You From Dean Newman

Aug 06, 2005

A thank you from Dean Newman

To all,

I wanted to thank everyone who helped spread the word for the Walter Trout show @ the Southgate house. Now that Jimmy Trapp has money in hand I can say "THANKS" for all the help you gave. We raised $1,375.00! Walter donated a brand new guitar that he autographed on stage for the lucky winner. By the way the winner drove 5 hrs up from Tennessee.

I want to personally thank all who donated items and helped make this happen CINCINNATI BLUES SOCIETY....for the hat's and T's (The band loved the T's so some of them will travel to Europe this month! World wide advertisement!) RUF RECORD LABEL...for the CD's and DVD's. Richard for posting the poster on the web site Jeff Hannigan for the creative "force" behind the great posters Chris and staff @ the house, you all are great! I think the buzz of the crowd showed how hard you all worked

Thanks for all that supported and have always supported, you know who you are. And for the ones who didn't, I'll just have to work harder next year. Remember, "YOU" are the "conduit" to the masses for all their entertainment needs. And the blues fan look to you for that.

Oh Yeah!!! Breen , Brian & Rick....your support for this years bluesfest was fantastic!!!!!! Job exceptionally done!!!

THANKS EVERYONE,

LIVE Video Broadcast, "Ride Till I'm Satisfied"

LIVE video broadcast of Walter Trout and the Radicals recording "Ride Till I'm Satisfied" on the bluepower.com internet radio show

From: BluePower.com
By: John Rhys

A couple of years ago, BluePower finally managed to wrest Walter Trout and the band away from their busy schedule to come into Rotund Rascal Studios in North Hollywood to record half a dozen songs live to two track.

While they were doing this, Steve Altman shot the session with one camera so that we could preserve the moment for posterity.

Later, Steve took it upon himself to put together one song with the video. It took a great deal of finagling to get the DVD to come out right as utilizing only one camera, he had to pull shots from other sections of the video in order to piece together the song.

BluePower used the DVD in a contest in which over 5000 people entered to win one of four DVD's made.

Here is that DVD with all it's foibles. However; if you're a guitar player, there are some amazing shots of Walter and the fingerboard during the main solos. A must for any guitar player in the process of learning to play leads.

Gig of the Year

Jan 22, 2005

Walter Trout and the Radicals - gig of the year

Peter Feenstra - www.feenstra.co.uk Independent promoter / PR Mystic Records / freelance writer writes...

I welcome the chance to suggest a personal top ten of both albums and gigs of only for the fact it represents one of the few opportunities to spotlight some of the artists who continue to tour and keep the live music scene alive.

GIGS OF THE YEAR
Walter Trout & The Radicals at The Mean Fiddler, London This show came three quarters of a way through a month long UK tour and both Walter and band were at their peak. Walter's biggest London crowd for over 5 years saw him play highlights from his 14 year solo career. Trout's playing exuded emotion, fire and shifted from low down blues to incendiary rock and roll. Highlights of a two hour set included Jericho Road" and the guitar/Hammond avalanche of "Put It Right Back On You". The two encores were fully deserved.

John Mayall is acknowledged as the father of British blues, having baptized a whole generation of white, British musicians and an audience who might otherwise have never discovered the blues. Apart from having discovered - in Eric Clapton, Peter Green and Mick Taylor - three of the most talented guitarists of the rock era, his "blues school" fostered the talents of a roster of artists who have since profoundly influenced the course of rock ‘n' roll. Mayall's new incarnation of the Bluesbreakers, officially launched in 1984, included future stars in their own right, guitarists Coco Montoya and Walter Trout and quickly proved to be as innovative and technically gifted as their peers.

Tour News for 2003

Dec 22, 2003

Tour news for 2004 (ALL subject to change)

In early 2004 (mid February) we will tour the Pacific Northwest in the USA. We will do shows in Seattle/Tacoma, Vancouver in Canada, as well as Reno Nevada and Portland Oregon.

We will be doing a special festival in the USA in the spring and a few days around it. Cannot announce which yet).

The plan is to tour in Europe in late April through May. We will cover Germany, Lithuania, Italy and France.

July will be a festival tour of Europe with festivals scattered all over Europe. We will start this run on July 2nd and end 20 days later or so. I cannot reveal which festival we will be playing yet, as the festivals have not announced themselves.

August and September will be touring in the USA. We will hopefully get some good festivals and definitely play the club circuit to back it up.

We will end the year by doing a big event in the USA (cannot reveal it yet, as it is not 100% confirmed)
Then tour the UK, Netherlands and Denmark, as it is customary for us to do late in the year. This year, Walter has requested that we do the tour so that he can vote and be home for the Presidential Election in early November. So whether we will be in Europe before the election or after, remains to be seen.

LIVE DVD-CD Recording

May 02, 2003

News of the forthcoming LIVE DVD-CD recording.

For the next release for Walter Trout and the Radicals we thought we would attempt a new approach to doing the same old studio CD, and hence make our product more interesting and set it apart from the rest.
For our August 2003 CD release, we are going to release ALL NEW SONGS recorded LIVE at the Paradiso in Amsterdam (where the Rolling Stones did "Stripped"). We will be documenting this on a DVD in surround sound, where all the tracks will be featured, and of course a lot of "special features" with background information, interviews, fun stuff etc. We will have Michael Au (Ohne Filter) take care of the video aspect (filmed by Dutchview), and Jim Gaines (Santana, Stevie Ray) produce the sound.
By having a double product: The CD featuring the tracks of all the new songs (never before recorded), and the DVD in 5.1 surround sound with a more relaxed and "documentary" feel, but with some great sounding music.... We hope to raise the bar for what is expected of recording artists, and certainly what can be done with the new technology.
I believe, if we can make the music relevant and fun to the record buying public, we will have a chance of actually keeping their attention. This as we of course keep trying to find new avenues exploiting the Internet as well.
This has not been done before. Not many bands have yet recorded their NEW MATERIAL live in front of an audience, and the 5.1 surround sound technology is fairly new in this, and most 5.1 DVD's are just remixed old recordings.
The actual recording at the Paradiso will take place on May 13 and 14. The USA release date is set for August 12th, 2003. Other countries dates will vary.

Endorsement from Vigier Guitars

Jan 17, 2003

January 17, 2003

Walter Trout is now endorsed by Vigier Guitars. See Vigier press release below.

Walter Trout Expert in Blues

Vigier, the advanced guitar designer, is proud to welcome Los Angeles Music Award Blues phenomena, Walter Trout to Vigier's circle of artists and users.

With a reputation for rippin' licks alongside the greatest names in blues including John Lee Hooker, Big Mama Thornton, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers and Canned Heat, the Vigier Expert series guitar provides extreme value to his stage performance.

With Trout's on stage ability and his Vigier guitar, he keeps the art of blues thriving and vivacious. "My Vigier Expert guitar plays great and sounds awesome. It has an especially full and clear tone down on the lower strings. A lot of guitars tend to get muddy in that area, but not my Vigier. The sustain is incredible but not at the expense of the clarity of tone. It stays in tune very well through all my crazed bending of strings. It plays with lots of ease and a minimum of effort. It's an awesome guitar," says Trout. Beyond any doubt, Vigier's scorching guitar sound enhances the boundaries of one of music's oldest forms.

With strong endorsement the Vigier Expert, series leans strongly on the classic double cutaway design and with masterful construction possesses one of the most comfortable necks created.

The Expert is an advanced guitar, a subtle combination between modern technology and classic art of lutherie, which makes it unique in a saturated market. It is available in 3 pickup configurations and models; Retro 54, Standard '63 and Texas Blues.

Last UK Show of European Tour

Oct 21, 2002

Walter Trout and the Radicals finished the UK leg of their European tour with a concert promoted by Pete Feenstra (who promotes concerts at the Rayners Hotel amongst many other venues) who has personally promoted Walter since he first played the UK for him at the end of the 80's. This show was a special end of UK tour concert and the night opened up with Walter's young protégée Danny Bryant's RedEyeBand and followed by Norweigan blues guitar virtuoso Peer Gynt who toured throughout the September and October with Walter Trout and the Radicals. The night was hot and sweaty, and as Walter keeps reminding us "if you are not not and sweaty, you can't be doing it right!" It was a fantastic end to the UK tour.

Nov 08, 2001

The Los Angeles Music Awards voted Walter Trout as Guitarist of the Year and also awarded the band Independent Rock Album of the Year for Go The Distance

Review below taken from bluepower.com

Trout Takes Two At LA Music Awards!
Fri Nov 09 07:16:40 PST 2001

11-08-01 Hollywood, CA: Fire-breathing guitarist WALTER TROUT, took two awards home from the LOS ANGELES MUSIC AWARDS held at Hollywood's WHISKEY AU GO GO last night.
Walter's "section" of the show was hosted by RUF RECORDS and Walter and the RADICALS were in fine form as they rocked their way through "A Love So Deep" and "Go The Distance", both penned by Walter. The latter, dedicated to America and it's people, blew the roof off the Whiskey.
Walter was then presented with two awards....One for "Best Rock CD Of The Year" and the other for "Best Guitarist Of The Year". Deservedly so!

Folks from all areas of the entertainment world were in attendance last night.
The event was hosted by WINSOR HARMON, who holds down a leading role in THE BAD AND THE BEAUTIFUL.
Among the notables were GARY BUSEY (The Buddy Holly Story), DAVID GATES (Bread), TONY TARANTINO (father of QUENTIN) and JOEY HEATHERTON, who still manages to look radiant after all those years.

CD Release - Face the Music (Live) [Europe Only]

Oct 01, 1999

CD release in Europe only on 31 January 2000. It will be his last release on the Provogue label. CD PRD 7121 2
(A live album will be released in the USA on the Ruf label in May/June 2000)

The title is Face the Music (live on tour)

1. Got a broken heart
2. Hard time blues
3. The reason I'm gone
4. Come home
5. Marie's mood
6. Soodo slide
7. Obstacles in my way
8. Tired of sleeping alone
9. On the rise

Total 52.72

The first two cuts are unbelievable... especially Hard Time Blues... I cannot sit still to that one.
Then he goes into a very emotionally charged slow blues (The Reason I'm Gone).
Then a shuffle.... raw and unchained as Walter can do them with Come Home.
Then again a very emotional explanation about Marie's Mood....Walter talks about how the song was written while his wife was expecting their second son..... and then he gets wild again with Soodo Slide. An instrumental fireball, that sounds like he is doing slide work... but he is not... just showing off his skills with his hands.
Obstacles is a great change of pace. Starting very simple with just guitar and vocals and growing into a frenzy of sound.
Then again a slow blues (Tired Of Sleeping Alone...) a song about hating the"road" and missing his baby (made up I believe on stage....). Again a very deep felt blues cut... and then all out blasting on "On The Rise" - a very energetic way to end the show....(CD).
