Walter Trout gives video lesson #1 in the UK's Total Guitar
magazine issue 166 September 2007.
www.totalguitar.co.uk

While WTR were playing in
Frome-UK, October 2006, Walter did an interview and guitar
tuition workshop. Lesson #1 is now published in TOTAL
GUITAR, Europe’s best selling guitar magazine. There is a
short video, pictures and a small write up with some
examples of what Walter is playing to go along with video.
This will run over three or four issues on the cover
mounted CD ROM. The only problem recording this in the tiny
changing room was getting Walter’s Mesa Boogie quiet enough.
It was set to ZERO rather than the normal TEN!

" Hard Core Blues Rock" tour in March 2007
"One evening in London on the recent European tour Walter and the band had
to do the entire show without Sammy Avila on keys. Sammy's B3 had broken
down and did not want to cooperate in time for the show to begin. It was
an evening of tension for Walter at first: How was he going to get through
an evening without his trusted sidekick? Well, it turned out that the mix
of an enthusiastic London audience, and more ROOM FOR WALTER'S GUITAR was
a powerful propellant, and Walter and his one-night-only power trio blew
through a very inspired evening with more room for bass/guitar interplay
and spontaneous errands into the land of "Hard Core Blues Rock".
So Walter decided to give this form of the band a small tour in the
spring.
It was a liberating but also limiting experience to play as just three
spontaneous blues rockers, but have no fear, there are no -
repeat absolutely NO PLANS - to make this a permanent version of the Radicals. It
is a chance to do a spontaneous hard core guitar driven evening of head
banging balls out blues, not a permanent solution for the kind of music
that Walter wants to play.
So anybody with the desire to experience the "hard core" trio will have
a maybe once in a lifetime opportunity in the March into early April tour.
We will have only 12 shows in the UK, a few in Holland and a handful in
Germany.

Killer has confessed murder after 20 years
in the case that inspired Walter to write the song
"Life in the Jungle"
Walter played with his band "the Walter Trout
Band" at Perq’s the night Jamie was killed. He walked through the streets
the next night and found himself standing in front of her apartment and
saw the blood and Police tape of "crime scene investigation" in front of
his Jamie’s door.
He knew Jamie as a fan, and a very artistic and sweet
friend. It shook him so much that he went home and wrote the first song,
since he got writer’s block 15 years earlier. The song was then recorded
with the band he was touring with: John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers.
When Walter went solo a few years later, it became the title
of his first solo Album: "Life in the Jungle." Now it is of course also
the name of the official Walter Trout Fan Club
Magazine.

"Walter and the Radicals returned to Mumbai, India Feb. 3rd and 4th for a
great concert. The band has developed a love affair with the Indian people
who have embraced Walter and the band’s music. Walter jammed on stage with
Buddy Guy on February 4th, and hung out with his actor friend, Sanjay Dutt.
Here is a link to the CNN/IBN video clip about Walter and his visit to
India"

Mumbai: Famous blues guitarist
Walter Trout stole hearts when he performed at a rock concert in
Mumbai. People danced to his numbers but little did they know that
Trout is in India because of ‘Munnabhai’ Sanjay Dutt.
While the guitarist said that Sanjay
is like his brother, the actor proclaimed, “no one plays guitar
better than Walter”.
The blues guitarist has come back to
India for the second time, because Dutt hoped for it. Dutt said
his love affair with Walter Trout's music goes a long way back. “I
listened to Walter in New York in my hotel room, many years ago,”
said Dutt.
“I became his biggest fan. And I must
say I have never heard anybody play guitar like this,” he added.
And for the man who was voted the 6th
best all time greatest guitarist in a BBC radio poll, there is now
more reason to keep coming back.
“We are a family. I feel like Sanjay
is my brother and I know, had he not heard me in New York, I would
have never been in India,” said Walter Trout.
The evening also saw guest artists
like Guitar Shorty and Bernard Allison who strummed up some good
old Blues music with Walter Trout.
